1975
The birth of an idea
In the 1970s, wine was primarily stored in underground cellars. With urbanization, these ideal conditions gradually disappeared from homes, making wine storage more uncertain.
In Fourmies, northern France, engineers and wine enthusiasts took on an unprecedented challenge: to recreate, inside a cabinet, the conditions of a natural wine cellar. The first prototype wine cabinet was born. A new way to preserve wine had arrived.
1976
The founding of EuroCave
This innovation became a brand. EuroCave was officially founded in 1976, embodying the combination of French industrial expertise and oenological passion.
Somaliers and professionals quickly recognized the value of this invention. The first orders arrived, followed by exports especially to Japan long before the global market fully grasped its significance.

1993 - First wine cabinet with precise electronic control of temperature and humidity, enabling more reliable aging
1997 - First built-in wine cabinet for the kitchen
2007 - Modular shelves with 12 slots, designed to accommodate all bottle shapes
2010 - Multi-temperature cabinets dedicated to professional service
2018 - First wine fridge for aging with independent temperature and humidity control
2022 - Champagne cabinet with leather finishes for the first time
2025 - Horizontal wine cabinet, reinvented as a designer piece of furniture

Rooted in Fourmies, EuroCave still designs and manufactures all its wine fridges and wine cabinets in France. Distributed in over 70 countries, the brand remains the only manufacture exclusively dedicated to the design of wine cabinets. Wine fridges have become more accessible to private collectors while remaining an indispensable tool for restaurateurs, sommeliers, and demanding collectors.
